As the crisp October air settles in, many people find themselves dealing with seasonal skin allergies and changes.

The impact is most often felt as a time suck to get that makeup right.

Not to mention the red flaky and itchy skin that comes along with spring.

Understanding how to manage these symptoms can help set you up for a smoother spring.

Spring is notorious for high pollen counts, which can trigger allergies and affect your overall well-being.

Here are some common spring concerns and tips to address them:

Increased Oiliness

Caused by warmer temperatures and higher humidity, it can lead to increased oil production.

We can use more lightweight products and gentle exfoliants in the clinic and at home.

Also consider using a lightweight, non-comedogenic foundation to avoid clogging pores.

[We recommend: DMK Super Serum, Exoderma peel, Micro Peel, Acu Mask, or Actrol Powder to assist with increased oiliness.]

Allergic Reactions

High Pollen counts and new allergens can trigger skin sensitivities or rashes.

A customised DMK enzyme therapy treatment will help with skin restoration and healing, improving skin barrier function and detoxification.

[We recommend: utilizing some of our internal health supplements like REGUL8 to regulate gut function to minimize allergies, EFAS, Zinc, Magnesium, Beta Gel, Super Serum, Biogen C.]

Sun Damage

Stronger spring sun can lead to UV exposure, even if it’s not as intense as summer.

Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 50 daily, even on cloudy days, and reapply every two hours if you are outside.

[We recommend: sunscreen like our DMK or Aspect Dr sunscreens that have high integrity and guard you against all the UV radiation.]

Dry Skin

The transition from cooler to warmer weather can impact our skins making them drier this occurs especially when the humidity levels fluctuate.

[We recommend: DMK Enzyme therapy to combat the dryness and improve skin integrity, also adding on some hydrating DMK homecare products like Super Serum, Hydrating Mask, or Hydroloc Moisture will reverse the signs and symptoms.]

Eczema

The change in weather conditions and pollens in the air can exacerbate skin conditions like eczema.

Red, itchy, and inflamed skin is the usual presentation.

There are a few treatment regimens and homecare products we can prescribe to help with the symptoms.

[We recommend: A consultation with us so we can design a personalised skin journey so we can calm that skin for you.]

Navigating the spring season with its accompanying skin challenges can be frustrating and time-consuming.

You could be slipping out the door with a quick smile at the mirror as you catch a glimpse of your soft dewy complexion and healthy radiant skin.

Let us design a personalised skin journey for you that will give effective relief and support your skin’s overall health.

We always advise you to come in and have a skin consultation every season so 4 times per year, this enables us to review your treatment and homecare regime.

The different seasons challenge our skins in different ways so you should change up the treatments and homecare regularly.
