RECENT STUDIES HAVE SHOWN TATTOOS MAY INCREASE BLOOD CANCER RISK BY 21%
Tattoo inks have potential carcinogenic properties and in the past 10 years researchers have been focusing on the chemical contents, particularly in Europe, the inks have shown that the movement of ink goes to the lymph nodes and that it is permanently stored there.
Tattooing exposes people not only to the ink in the tattoo but there are also risks associated with needle use, and this is Hepatitis C.
Tattoo popularity has increased with 20% of Europeans and 30% of Americans having tattoos.
We don’t want to scare you, however, knowledge is power and it is good to be aware, and always remember to wear sunscreen, especially over tattoos.
At Richmond Skin & Laser we utilize the world-renowned PicoSure Laser for tattoo removal.
PicoSure is still the latest technology utilized for tattoo removal and Cynosure launched the world’s first picosecond laser.
The pulse width of the picosecond technology is 100x faster than nanosecond technology and not only is it effective on all tattoo colours, but compared with other tattoo removal lasers, tattoo treatments now take half of the overall time, saving patients both time and dollars.
See above one of our clients has given us permission to use her results: We have many more in the clinic.
NOTE- there is a small remnant of ink there called ghosting, this will disappear in time, look at the skin intact, with no scarring!
How many tattoo removal treatments will I require and how often?
When it comes to tattoo removal each patient is different and therefore several variables come into play such as size, colours, where the body is located, and what type of ink was used.
On average, half of the number of treatments is usually required when compared to nanosecond technology, (all the other laser technologies) with a 6-8 week period between each treatment.
This gives the body time to clear away the ink particles before the next treatment.
Once you have made the leap and committed to removing your tattoo with us, it’s important to be aware of the aftercare you require on this journey.
As with any laser treatment, we require you to avoid sun in the area 4 weeks pre and post treatment.
You will also need to let us know if you have undergone any medical procedures or have started new antibiotics, as they can cause photosensitivity.
