What is acne?

Acne happens when the hair follicle or pore becomes clogged with oil and dead skin cells resulting in open and closed comedones, more commonly known as whiteheads and blackheads. This can escalate and become inflamed and scar if early intervention is not taken to manage the condition.

Who does it affect? Acne can affect anyone but is more commonly seen in teenagers or those going through hormonal changes.
Sena’s favourite acne management products. Acutherm for spot treatments and the Acu Masque is great for a weekly at home treatment to control excess sebum.
How to manage acne…

Acne can be managed through a number of methods.
⦁ Bespoke skincare regime designed by one of our Dermal Clinicians
⦁ Regular Enzyme Therapy, these aid acne management by assisting skin cells to function
⦁ Extractions can also be added to an enzyme treatment to manually unclog the follicle
⦁ A balanced diet that is low in sugar and dairy
⦁ Taking EFA’s to improve oil quality, helping to reduce pores clogging
⦁ Blue LED light therapy which destroys the bacteria
