Focus Concern: Keratosis Pilaris
Also known as “chicken skin’, is a condition characterized by red or white, rough, and bumpy skin. It is most common on the back of arms, buttocks, back of thighs and back. It generally appears in children and young adults and has a higher chance of occurring in those with genetic predispositions to asthma, dry skin and eczema. It is caused by the excessive accumulation of keratin in the hair follicles.
There is no known reason as to why it occurs and there is no cure for it, however there are some treatments and homecare that can improve and reduce its appearance when used regularly.
We LOVE our DMK Alkaline treatment for this condition as it helps to soften and smooth the skin by dissolving unwanted dead skin cells, that cause the rough skin texture.
